What to expect after Treatment

What can I expect after treatment? Will my pain be instantly gone?

For some people, yes! For most, they notice the changes starting right away.

When using manual therapy, the best results are when someone feels freer movement right away. The “locking” or “pinching” sensation will feel better, and I will feel the joint or body part moving more freely. I will immediately see the person’s walking & movement change. Once we unload whatever is causing the irritation, the angry inflamed tissues will finally have the chance to heal. Some of the best results I see are when someone notes that anti-inflammatories (Advil, Aleve) work for a moment, but the pain keeps coming back. This is because the med is reducing the inflammation caused by the problem, but not removing what’s causing the irritation. That’s the problem I’m looking for when I evaluate you! I’m looking for a restriction that can cause this irritation, then using a technique to treat it. I will notice the change in movement with my hands & eyes, and you will notice freer, looser movement. Over the next hours or days, the original pain will reduce, and hopefully be gone! For some, they have new muscle soreness for a day or two, similar to the soreness after hitting the gym. The good news is that these are your old muscles finally coming back online after an injury hiatus!
